Director of Instruction at Half Moon Bay Golf Links
Colton is a lifelong Coastside resident who learned the game locally at Half Moon Bay Golf Links. He has played competitive golf in California and Massachusetts, caddied in pro qualifiers, worked in both public and private sectors of the game, and graduated from UMass Amherst in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. He is a PGA Associate and serves as the golf coach for Pescadero Middle School. Along with individual instruction, he also offers monthly short game clinics to golfers wanting to focus on fundamentals and strategy. In his lessons, Colton prioritizes developing a reliable, repeatable swing while helping students understand the specific adjustments to elevate their game. He believes in the philosophy of “teaching you to teach yourself” and is skilled in providing insight into what is changing and why. His ultimate goal is to empower players to leave each session with the knowledge and skills to continue improving on their own. Whether you’re sharpening fundamentals or pushing toward higher performance, Colton can provide instruction that’s personal, practical, and transformative for your game.
Coltin Doak

Coltin has an associate’s degree in professional golf management and teaching. He has spent the past three years working as a golf professional and coach at Half Moon Bay Golf Links, where he has helped many beginner and intermediate golfers develop a strong foundation in the game.
Coltin focuses on teaching the fundamentals of golf, including posture, grip, alignment, swing mechanics, short game technique and course management. His coaching style emphasizes simple, effective instruction that helps players build consistency and confidence on the course. He enjoys working with golfers of all skill levels and tailoring lessons to each player’s goal, whether they are learning the basics or looking to improve their scores at a more advanced level.
As a PGA Associate, Coltin continues to grow professionally. His goal is to create welcoming and supportive environment where golfers can learn, improve and have fun while playing their best golf.
